Becoming an IFBC consultant isn’t complicated. But it does require commitment.
STEP 1: Attend an Informative Webinar
Join a live session to learn how independent franchise consulting works, how the Compensation Plan works, and what the annual platform fee includes. Bring your questions. You can also skip this step and apply directly.
STEP 2: Submit Your Application
If the program fits your goals, complete the short online application with your contact details, location, whether you’re joining as an individual or an entity, and your eligibility information.
STEP 3: Eligibility and State Review
IFBC checks your eligibility and the requirements for your state. There’s no interview. If you’d like to talk first, you can book an optional discovery call: a conversation, not an interview.
STEP 4: Review and Sign Your Agreement
Read the Independent Franchise Consultant Agreement and any state addenda that apply to you, then sign when you’re ready.
STEP 5: Enroll and Verify
After your signed documents are accepted, IFBC invoices the $499 annual platform fee ($199/yr for consultants based in CT, ME and NC). It’s invoiced, never auto-charged. Once payment is confirmed, you complete identity verification.
STEP 6: Compliance Orientation and FranOrbit Access
Complete compliance orientation and get access to FranOrbit, the platform built for independent franchise consultants. Optional learning resources are available at your own pace.
STEP 7: Start Working With Investors
Once your state requirements are met, you can begin presenting ACTIVE brands to Investors. Your business. Your name. You build your own client relationships, because IFBC does not provide leads.

You carry your own insurance and any required licenses or state filings. State requirements are checked before each transaction. The program is not offered in Massachusetts.
